In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (10 of Section 8A of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 (Central Act 39 of 1987), read with sub- rule (1) of rule 8 of the Kerala State Legal Services Authorities Rules, 1998 the Kerala State Legal Services Authority herby constitutes the High Court Legal Services Committee for the Kerala High Court consisting of the following members namely:-

(This does not form part of the notification, but is intended to indicate its general purport.)

Section 8A of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, (Central Act 39 of 1987) empowers the State Legal Services Authority to constitute the High Court Legal Services Committee consisting of the Chairman and other members nominated by the Chief Justice of the High Court. The State Legal Services Authority decided to constitute the said Committee as provided in Section 8A(1) of the Act read with Rule 8(1) of the Kerala State Legal Services Rules, 1998.

The notification is intended to achieve the above object.

Section 9 of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 (Central Act 39 of 1987), empowers the State Government to constitute District Legal Services Authority for every district in the state, consisting of such members as provided therein to exercise the powers and perform the functions conferred on or assigned to the District Authority, under the Act. Government have decided to constitute the said Authority in Thiruvananthapuram, Alappuzha and Palakkad Districts in the State as provided in the said section read with rule 9 of the Kerala State, Legal Services Rules, 1998.

This notification is intended to achieve the above object.
